When I first had my savings from my online freelance writing salary, I sent it to my parents in Ph (around March 2008). That time I was so problematic since my baby just went out from the hospital because he was sick. When I called up my parents on how they can claim the small amount I sent for them, I wasn’t able to tell the right office on where they can claim it. So, my father thought that I was insane because of my problem. When I called them up, they said they went inside a wrong office wherein lots of office workers were wondering what they’re doing in there since it’s not an agent of the money gram dot com that I used in sending them the amount. So, I tried to look at the right agent on the web and then gave it to them. After that, they were able to claim it and they were so thankful. From that time on, I would see to it that I will send them something every month. When I calculated everything I sent them last 2008, that’s almost 5k out of my earnings as freelance writer. It didn’t matter that there’s nothing left for me as long as I was able to give them a little financial support!
